iPad iPad pro 9.7 case on ipad Air 2

Just a simple question: I am going to buy a Pro 9.7 silicone case for my iPad Air 2.
I already got an old Apple smart cover. Will it work with the silicone case?

The silicone case should fit fine - though it will have the extra cutouts for the speakers and camera flash. The Smart Cover may be difficult to open though - the new ones are bigger for a reason
