iPad Pro 9.7: how long until full charge?

    Received a new 2016 iPad Pro 9.7 and surprisingly, or understandably it's battery has completely drained.

    It's been about 1.5 hours and it's only charged to 35% with its 12W charger.

    Is this a cause for concern, as in is this defective - should I exchange it for another unit? Most of the iPads I've received have had some amount of charge. This being a 2016 model could have completely drained out in storage.

    Anyone have any idea as to how long it should take to charge a 2016 iPad Pro 9.7 from 0 -> 100%? Thanks!

    Don’t know about the 9.7, but my 12.9 takes about 5 hours to charge using the included 12 w power brick

    My 9.7 iPad Pro takes... Not sure about the exact number (I will update this thread next time I fully charge it) but it is between 4 and 5 hours.

    Nothing unusual. My iPad Pro was at 20% this morning and started charging it. A bit later plugged in my iPhone, also at 20%. An hour later my iPhone was at 79% and iPad at 55%. So, yes charging is pretty slow.

    Thanks for your responses ... My older iPads and even the iPad 2017 seemed to charge relatively quickly with a 12W charger.

    What has been disappointing is inability of 2016 9.7 iPad Pro to even recognize the 29W USB-C charger. It only charges newer devices :(
