Seems that mine is shipping from CA, not China. Which makes sense given my previous experiences - if it were in CHina, by now it would have passed customs. Have you checked UPS ?

Uh, i can't select a ship date later than today, am i doing it wrong?
Just type it, don't use the calendar.

Guys, any word on this?
I have to say I placed the order 8 minutes after the pre-order was available.
I reached their Live Chat rep on Friday but the answer he gave me was a bit dumb: The pre-order system is completely automatised so there is no way for them to know what's my order # in the queue, so no idea when mine would be shipped. I used the "live chat" feedback to complaint about this, quoting amazon on how great pre-orders are on other items (as long as you place the pre-order, you are guaranteed an unit on launch day or before).
Now lo and behold I got a follow up mail today due to my complaint, but it was even more disheartening, the guy said "we're sorry blah blah... there are a couple shipments arriving on the second week of April and we hope to deliver them ASAP". Second week as in next week? Shipments arriving to their warehouse so late for a pre-order? Means if 10k people pre-ordered in those 7 minutes before mine I'll have to wait till May?
I don't know, this whole deal sucks and hearing about people basically getting shipments from Apple as we speak doesn't help...
I'm not expecting to see any status updates until the 31st.

First, it specifically said on the website that it's not shipping until 3/31 so that pretty much ensures there's no chance of receiving it on the 31st. Second, stock for anyone except Apple is typically pretty iffy upon release. I've had iPhone and iPad pre-orders from AT&T and Verizon get delayed by weeks to a month, too. Carriers and retailers often don't know just how much stock and what configurations they'll receive until they receive shipment. If you want your devices right away, bear that in mind for future purchases. Safer to buy directly from Apple.

If you want better logistics now, perhaps you can just cancel your B&H pre-order and order from Apple. Their shipping times are fairly accurate (actually has quite a bit of padding) and Apple.com and Apple Retail Stores get priority.

I guess despite all the folks on here bemoaning the iPad Pro 9.7 only having 2GB RAM and the $100 price bump, the device was more popular than expected.

I'm ordering the new Lighting to USB 3 connector (I use MIDI devices and want to skip the in-the-middle USB hub) BUT this time I'm just waiting. If it's available this week or early next week I'll order otherwise it'll be another time.
Problem is like I mentioned I'm not in the US (South America) and Apple won't accept my dirty third world south american money so I cannot even try and buy from the store (international billing address = goodbye, and even if I fake it, freight forwarder address in Florida = goodbye).
Also I cannot cancel the order since they charged my CC already, so it'd take too long for them to refund (and hence release the charge and my CC is at the limit now) since they charge (and so is stated on their pre-order page, so no monkey business here, very clear) international customers on order placement.

However I just checked B&H and well, seems like things are looking optimistic, the iPad went from "On order" (= suck it, boy) to "In stock, order sent to warehouse Expedited Delivery " which I assume it's a beautiful way of them saying "we read your bitching post at MacRumors and you're good to go for that 31st shipment.

I only mentioned Amazon's delivery same day as a way to share my pre-order experiences, but I'm totally fine with an April 4-5 delivery date. Just was a bit angry at the uncertainty :)

Just crossing fingers "In stock, order sent to warehouse Expedited Delivery" really means what it, well, states.

Still no update...
Ordered from Apple about 10am on the 24th to be delivered in Michigan.

i ordered 7 minutes after it was possible to place a pre-order and i'm still not shipped...

One thing to keep in mind, I used to work for FedEx so I can imagine UPS is similar. Goals and metrics are based on scan percentage. This means the percentage of packages you scan yield you better things, like prizes or raises. It is very very difficult to scan every single package that comes through the belt. We have thousands of packages every night and sometimes missing up to twenty (for each person on a belt, sometimes up to 10 people) isn't uncommon. Just because you don't have an update at any point of the delivery doesn't mean you aren't progressing. Just be patient.

Just got the shipping notification! Order made at 12:04 a.m. Pacific time on the 24th. I ordered mine with engraving: my name and e-mail address in case it ever got lost.

The notification came less than an hour ago. It had originally told me that I would be getting it between April 6th and 11th. Now it's due to arrive before the end of the day on the 31st.

And the 31st is my birthday :D

Difference with that is there's usually no shortages of products Amazon sells and if there is, they know exactly how much stock they're receiving. I doubt a lot of manufacturers can afford to alienate Amazon.

With Apple during release, it gets to be pretty crazy and third-party retailers are at the mercy of Apple. I'm also not kidding about Apple stores getting priority. I've seen cases where later Apple orders (not just pre-order) are shipped and received before the pre-orders from carriers. Alas, not sure how you can get around the US billing address thing.

name and email is a good idea for an engraving, wish i thought of that...i usually never get engravings.

So receiving the T-Mobile Email with next day saver already with the origin scan, still will recieve the 31st, just wished I could get it tomorrow with the "overnight" shipping on the email.

Here is an update on my order, that may help some others..

My order status page is still showing "preparing for shipment" for the past few days, so nothing has changed on that.

This morning I tried to search on UPS by the phone number, nothing was coming up..

Later on, here on macrumors, I saw people were talking about the supportprofile page and I checked and the new iPad was indeed showing there.. (while UPS was still not showing anything).

Just now, I again searched on UPS and yes, it now also shows a package delivery by the end of 31st with a next day air.. It came up with my phone number without the use of country prefix (001 or 1)

Mine must be fairly close to me. It's coming by UPS standard, which means there's no way it's coming from out east unless it's already moving.

Well I finally got an update from TMobile and my iPad is in transit as we speak from KY. The next step is "Out for Delivery".

Yep, I just got a shipment notification from T-Mobile as well. Origin scan in Kentucky! I guess we will be getting ours Thursday!

Got my confirmation too. UPS shipping out of Rialto to the Bay Area. Now to start shopping for data only plans. Might be time to break away from AT&T and get a $20 3GB plan from T-Mobile.

At 19:10 Pacific I received the serial numbers for my two iPad Pro's, as above, with the AppleCare agreement.

Syncreon is showing a bit of movement now.

Ps. Does anyone know at what point you can track this on UK Mail?

Got my shipment notification email from Apple at 12:25am PST. When I check the orders page on apple.com and hit track shipment it shows, "Shipment Issue - please contact Apple" It better be something stupid.

I already had my Card issuer block the payment for "security reasons". Had to call them and then apple to get the order processed.

Mine is showing Shipped on the Order Tracker, but shows a delivery of April 4th :( . UPS is still predicting that they will deliver it by end of day on the 31st, so here's to hoping that they're right for once.

I have the same thing, I don't think it's anything of importance to us.
