Has anyone else had an issue with the screen no lighting up properly when opening the Smart Cover? Mine is always really dark and slowly gets brighter over 20-30 seconds. My iPad Air was instantly at the right level. This a bug or intended nature?

Same thing happens to me, but the screen quickly lights up over 2-3 seconds. I am using a 3rd party case with an integrated Smart Cover. A bit annoying when you want to quickly peek at notifications but otherwise, not really an issue for me.
yes, it happnened to my ipad pro 9.7. then i returned to the shop and get another one. Same thing happened. Then i get the third one, same thing happened. I guess it is a bug

My iPad Pro 9.7 does this occasionally too. It's like it's at the minimum screen brightness setting when the cover is opened. It goes to normal brightness within about 3 seconds after doing fingerprint authentication. I'm not worried about it. Probably an iOS bug.

Mine does this without using a smartcover. When I first turn it on, it's very dim. But a few seconds and it's bright.
