iPad Pro 9.7 Silicone Case on Air 2?

Just curious and haven't found a decent answer yet. Does the iPad Pro Silicone Case (The back, not cover) fit the Air 2? Same dimensions I understand, however, I'm looking to use my existing Air 2 Cover with this back shell. Has anyone tried this? If so, could you please post a photo?

I just tried this. The Air/Air 2 Smart Cover does not fit with new silicone case. The part that attaches to the iPad is too long for the cutout on the case. Oh well.

My brother wanted to do this so we went to the Apple Store to check the case out and we ended up putting the 9.7 Pro next to the Air2 and the deal breaker was that the bottom speakers location is different on the Pro than on the Air 2. Other than that everything else is the same (volume, camera, mic cutouts).

Thanks! I appreciate it. I was about to pull the trigger on the case but without being able to use the smart cover, I think I'll look at 3rd party options. Thanks though!
