Fortunately I skipped it, going straight from the iPad 2 to the iPad 4 (a little heavy but powerful device)

The iPad 2 was a great device but was getting noticeably slower lately. I just upgraded to an iPad Air 2 and I'm really enjoying it. Very responsive and the retina screen is just amazing. I also can't get over how light it is.

My iPad Pro has replaced my Air 2 for cruising the Internet in the Lazyboy!

The battery does not seem to last as long as my Air 2 did and does charge slower. Still very happy and charging at night has always worked out for me.

I doubt the included charger makes much charging headway if you are using it at the same time.

Thanks for the replies.

I do charge it overnight. Once I start using it, it seems to run down faster than the Air. When I charge it while using it - always using the standard Apple charger, it seems like the charger just keeps up... The percent charged goes up very slowly. I'm surprised that it doesn't have a bigger charger than the Air. I do keep the screen fairly bright - about 75%. But that's the same as I set my Air.

I'll get used to what it takes to maintain a sufficient charge, but it's notably harder than with the Air. I find myself heading off to afternoon meetings with 16% battery or so, which didn't happen with the Air. When I plugged in the Air while at my desk, the battery charged quickly. The Pro just goes up a few percent when I use it plugged in.

Just seems like Apple didn't maintain the level of user experience with the charging rate of the Pro. I wish they had a faster charger, even if it were physically larger.

Something seem out of wack that in 4 hours you can drain the battery by over 80%. I would say you have an issue with the battery in your iPad. I easily get a full day in office on a charge, and if I have it plugged in while working it charges, not as fast as the iPad Air however. This morning I started out around 70% charge, turned it on at 8 am, and I am now to 97% charge. It's 10:18 am here, and I have been using the iPad about 60% of the time.
