iPad Pro iPad Pro battery level monitor screen missing sections

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone has encountered sections/periods of time missing in the iPad pro battery monitor (last 24 hours) screen?

The attached screenshot shows my iPad Pro (12.9, 2020, 256gb, ipadOS 13.5) battery level monitor screen for a 24 hour period, for which is was locked, but on, with approx 85% charge left, as having missing sections during various times.

Now I don’t know if this is normal behaviour or to do with some kind of low power state perhaps, and it didn’t restart or power off as I unlocked it without needing to enter my passcode, but I was under the impression that the green bars should display consistently as the charge decreases over time - other words, the green bars should be visible For the entire 24 hour period?

Hopefully this makes sense, I’d be grateful for any feedback before I approach apple support.

Mine is continuous for the past 24 hours, at least 8 of which it was locked/not used.

Try updating to iPadOS 13.5.1 and see what happens.

Thanks for your responses. From speaking to Apple support, it seems (so far) that the missing chunks of time for the battery state in the 24 hour monitor screen are in some way related to airplane mode being switched on.

Why this is the case I haven't a clue. But this is what Apple have alluded to. Haven't updated my ios and their diagnostic came back normal, healthy battery etc.

Maybe someone who understands the specifics of airplane mode can enlighten us hopefully?

Hi IGB! I know it's been a lot of time since you wrote the post, but same here. iPad Pro 2021 (M1) bought three weeks ago. Been watching the battery monitor regularly, but only today have I seen a blank space of a few hours in which for sure the iPad was on (locked). No airplane mode on whatsoever.

Did you finally figure out what was all this about? For all this time you've used the iPad, has it given you any battery issue?

My iPad is on 15.0.2 (latest). Perhaps it is just a software bug...
