I have an original 12.9” iPad Pro and noticed in the last 3/4 weeks that it is not working. I have tried the usual checks, but nothing seems to work. I also get an ‘Accessory not supported’ message at least once a day. I presume it’s to do with the keyboard.

Also, in the last couple of days, I have noticed that the battery percentage keeps decreasing when I unplug the iPad and leave it on standby. The Smart Keyboard is connected during this time.

I am sorry I have posted 2 questions in one post, but thought it might be connected.

Thank you,

Gareth

Is the iPad Pro connected via a lightning cable when you get this message? Are you using a legit Lightning cable and legit Apple charger?

It is normal for the battery to discharge on standby of course. However if you think it is too fast, it may be due to an old battery. If you have a Mac, connect the iPad to the Mac and run CoconutBattery to check your iPad’s battery status.

Thank you for your response. I am using a legit Apple cable and charger. Usually when the iPad is on standby the battery percentage doesn't go down, until a few weeks ago. I don't have a Mac, I have a PC.

I noticed as well that when my 2nd gen 12.9 IPP would start to drain, while charged, plugged in, and with the Smart Keyboard attached, the iPad would start to drain. MADDENING! Replaced the Smart Keyboard with a regular old Smart Cover and problem solved. I use a magic keyboard now and no issues.
