apple doesn't do Black Friday beyond perhaps letting everyone have the same discount as students for that one day. and i'm sure they get a discount on the iPad Pro

interest and supply are moot. Black Friday sales are about getting asses and wallets into stores. Apple doesn't need help with that.

First ipad air had some huge unexpected sales the BF/holiday season after it launched, and i think it was launched around the same time as this one. Anythings possible.

I think it's definitely within the realm of possible. Last year they gave out gift cards with the purchase of the iPad Air 2, which had only been just released.
