Hey guys,

mum new to Macrumors, but I’m hoping that you guys can help me.

I have recently got a new iPad Pro and have found that there is an indent at the corner of the box and the corner of the box has been pushed in. I am quite worried cause since the box is quite sturdy, it would have had do have taken quite a lot of pressure to do this. So I’m worried if it the box and the iPad were dropped in the factory maybe or if the internals of the iPad are damaged.

i would really appreciate help, thank you very much.

If the ipad was damaged you would know it, because it wouldn’t work or there would be physical damage. The job of the box is to absorb shock. You should be fine.

I think it would be dependent on what you call "dented". If the box looks like it's been ran over by a truck then maybe you should be concerned. If it has a small dent that didn't push into the iPad inside then it's probably fine. The only way to find out is try and see if it's working.

Hey,

thank you very much for the help, I’mprobably just being paranoid.

What do you guys recon could have caused the dent on the corner of the box. I’m just worried it may have been dropped in the factory.

Thank you for the help.

It could have been dropped at the factory, dropped at the store, pushed against something. I guess it would be hard to say. If it's in the box it's protected pretty well. How big is this dent? Is it pushed in a few millimeters / 1/8th of an inch or pushed in much more? If it's minor I wouldn't worry. I would inspect it closely for damage but the box is pretty protective.

Feel free to share an image of the issue. If you are too worried, just return it and order a replacement.

The iPad doesn’t have any moving part inside. Even if it was dropped if you can’t see any evidence on the surface of the actual device then it’s probably fine.
