Can you guys let me know if I’m missing anything?

The cellular upgrade on the upcoming iPad Pros is $200 - but the major carriers are offering a $200 gift card upon activation, and I can’t seem to find any mention of a minimum service period, at least on T-Mobile. My understanding is that I could order the cellular iPad, activate it on T-Mobile (okay so that’s not free, I’d have to pay $20 for the first month‘s service), submit for my gift card, then cancel. Is that right?

From the fine print, it looks like AT&T requires 30 months of service, and Verizon 12. But, yeah, T-mobile says the line must just be in good standing when they send you the rebate, 6 to 8 weeks after activation. Plus it must be 10GB or higher plan. So looks like you only to have to have two months service. But, that is $30/month for 10GB from what I can see, so you are probably out $60. Maybe $90 if the card takes 8 weeks to get to you.

Interesting that it mentions Sprint. Didn't they go defunct?

I'm going to assume you are going pay for the iPad via credit or cash.

Yea it sounds like you might be able to cancel the cell plan after the gift card shows up.

If you go monthly payment on the device... The minute you cancel the service the carrier is going to send you a huge bill for the iPad pro

Oh I won’t be buying the iPad through the carrier - seems like this offer is equally valid if you buy the iPad Pro directly from Apple.

How do I get it?
Buy an iPad with Wi-Fi + Cellular directly from Apple (pay in full or pay monthly with Apple Card Monthly Installments). Within 30 days of placing your order, activate an eligible 10GB (or larger) data plan with T-Mobile/Sprint and complete the promotional application at promotions.t-mobile.com.
