I used my iPad Pro last night and it has been locked in my bag with nobody touching it all day today. When I took it out of my bag to use it today, it had the "iPad is disabled" message on the screen and the only way I could get it working again was by doing a complete restore.

I know this can happen when someone enters the incorrect password 10 times, but nobody touched this device today. Why would it just disable on its own?

Is it possible a Bluetooth keyboard was connected and on? If so that can disable the iPad as the buttons on the keyboard get pressed.

I do have a logitech keyboard case attached that connects via the smart connector. Could this have caused it? I've had this case attached for months and never had an issue.
[doublepost=1506498996][/doublepost]I just read the reviews for the keyboard case online at Apple.com and it seems several users are reporting that buttons get pressed when the case is closed--particularly the media key. I guess this happened more than 10 times in my bag today and the iPad disabled since it thought someone was typing passwords. Thanks for the suggestion!

I’m not sure that the Logitech case could cause this to happen. When the case is closed, the iPad doesn’t touch the smart connector, so even if you push a button somehow, the keyboard has no power to trigger a function.

This is the Logitech Slim Combo with detachable keyboard for 12.9-inch iPad Pro. The smart connector is always attached, even when the case is closed. Lots of reviews on Apple's online store complaining about this issue--in particular, the media key getting pressed and playing a song from iTunes unexpectedly.

Thanks for pointing this out! I wasn’t aware that they differ from what they did with the Create line.

I wish I could provide a link but I can’t remember where I read it, but I read that Logitech did a firmware update for their slim combo that stopped the media button Issues awhile back. I’ve been using the slim combo on my 12.9 for six weeks with zero issues.

On my 12.9, I have had no issues with media being played accidentally.

Yeah, that seems to be a common issue with the logitech smart keyboard. That is why I picked up the Apple Smart Keyboard, more expensive but totally realiable

Interesting. How do you update the firmware though? I have the Apple Smart Keyboard too, but it doesn't protect the back, doesn't hold the Apple Pencil, and the keys are not as nice as on the Logitech.

As for the firmware update, I they just updated it when you’re online through the smart connector. I need to google that to be sure tho. I sent a request to Logitech asking for more info. They seem to be really slow in responding.

I just bought the slim combo about 6 or so weeks ago. I used the Apple Smart Keyboard for over a year. I like how much much lighter it is. It took me a long while to get used to the shollow Keys. The slim combo keys are way better in my opinion. I travel internationally a lot and found myself “needing” a backlit keyboard during long night flights. As for as the back of the iPad, on my first gen 12.9 I used Apples back cover. The combo is great in my opinion. I think amazon sells 3rd party back covers for the second gen pros.

Just as a side note, I used my 12.9 for around 2 months with just the ASK and no back cover with zero issues or scratches.
