It is almost the first birthday of the 3rd generation iPad Pro. There has been a lot of talk about design, bending and breaking iPads in the past year. What is your experience concerning durability?

Durability seems ok as long as you take care of the device. It does seem more fragile than previous iPads we have had in the house though. I wouldn’t throw it in a heavy bag where stuff can put pressure on it to prevent bending.

i just picked up one and it doesn’t feel overly fragile to me. I can’t imagine bending one under normal use. Would I carry it in a backpack though unless it has a good case on it? Absolutely not.

Doesn’t feel particularly more delicate than any of the many iPads I’ve had before it. The tapered edge design concentrated forces on the glass edge fwiw. My Pro has lived in my backpack every day for nearly a year traveling all over the world with me. No case other than the folio keyboard.

It's edges I'd be more concerned about.

Agreed! Haven’t had any issues with bending... however I do tend to travel with mine.

And I had a folio cover... it slipped out of my hand. I had a few scrapes on the edges. But my screen didn’t get damaged... so I was relieved by that. But lately, I’ve been extremely careful ever since the incident. I picked up a sleeve to protect it as well.

using my 9.7 ipad pro caseless was the best thing I ever did, feels so light. You do have to accept the inevitability of dings, but mine still held up really well ever since I got it
