iPad Pro iPad Pro first gen will not install 14.7

I have a first gen iPad Pro running 13.5.1 and I am trying to update it and goes thru the process of downloading 14.7 but it never installs it. It just keeps going into a loop asking me to download it again.
Anyone have any suggestions?

your 1st gen iPad Pro should be OK to update.

So it may be something else - maybe a damaged download file? If there's a way to remove the previously downloaded file completely it may be worth a try. Then re-download.

Rebooted and tried again. Each time it asks me to download and install the update after it already went through all of that. This time it finally at least popped up with an error message saying software update failed an error occurred downloading 14.7

though that doesn’t really tell me anything. There is plenty of space on the iPad.

is there a place to go to see the file that may have been downloaded to delete it?

Kat,

Don't have my iPad handy but my iPhone has, on its second page, a Files app.

It looks like that might be used to find and delete the file you downloaded if it is also on your device.

Are you trying to download this thru a computer or simply just on the iPad itself?

I'm doing this on the iPad. The iPad searches every time for the update, downloads it supposedly, prepares it supposedly, and then after whatever time it takes, 40 minutes or so of seeing progress bars it goes back to showing the initial button to download and install update. It is a constant loop...
