I just replaced my Air 2 with an iPad Pro last week and I love it more than any iPad I've owned (and that's literally all of them since the iPad 1.)

I just love the screen, as soon as I opened the box it brought a big smile to my face. It's the best iPad I've had for media consumption thanks to the screen, the speakers and the power (no lag in anything even multiple Safari tabs and split screen.)

Naturally I got the pencil, which is hands down the best stylus I've used on an iPad, but it would be wouldn't it. And despite telling myself I wouldn't, I ended up buying the Smart Keyboard a couple of days ago and I'm glad I did. Not as glad as the wife is right enough, I'm using Remote Desktop software so I'm already sitting in the lounge more with her while I work instead of in my office. So she's ended up being pleased I spent money for a change :D

With that screen and power coupled up with the Pencil and Smart Keyboard, I find it to be a much better productivity tool than my Air 2 was. I always found keyboards for the Air a little cramped and the screen a bit small at times. But that's not the case with the Pro. Sure I could have bought a MacBook, but I've had plenty of those, I didn't want a full blown laptop.

I know some people have their niggles with the Smart Keyboard but I think Apple did exactly the right thing with it. It's light compared to many keyboards, it's not got gaps under the keys, so it's very easy to keep clean and I'm genuinely impressed by the feel of it considering how thin it is.

Hope you enjoy yours as much as I'm loving mine. I'll stop waffling on now, bloody medication :D

Congrats

I've yet to take the plunge, but I can this being a great product for many people. My wife and kids want one, but buying only one, I can see it setting up some arguments on who uses it. I'd rather avoid that right now, (and avoid spending the money if I can help it).

Congrats, I've looked at the Pro but decided that the cost was too high for my uses which would be media consumption. I'm waiting on the new Pro mini to be launched later this month to replace my original iPad Air.

Resistance is futile. I think you are going to end up buying at least two. How many kids did you have?

2 kids, but there's no way I can (or will) spend close to 2k. I just cannot justify that in any form. I can make a case for one iPad to be sure. Plus I think its the idea of spending too much on them with such extravagant purchases. I'd rather not spoil them in that way. By getting a single one, it can be then viewed as a family iPad and they'll have to share (yes, I fully expect lots of arguments erupting over who gets to use it :) )

I was fairly lucky. I had just given one kid an iPad Air 2 and had another iPad Air 2 that I was using along with my MacBook Pro (and Desktop). So I sold the MacBook Pro and used the proceeds to buy an iPad Pro. Then I gave the iPad Air 2 to my other kid. Now everyone is happy. I only have to go out and about with my iPad Pro--so lighter on the travel, and my kids both have Air 2's and are happy (they better be!!!!). ;)

I get that 2k is a lot of money, but 4 people fighting over one iPad could get really ugly. (Yes, you'd want time on it, too!)

I no buy 2 iPad Air 2 for the kids then buy the iPad pro for you and your wife too uesd at lest if you got the kids 2 iPad Air 2 they won't have any thing too fight over

if they let me have side by side safari tabs, I'd probably jump in immediately. But I just had a play in the local apple store and the screen feels too big for single safari browsing, and side by side is useful sometimes but two safari windows would be amazing.

You don't have too get the iPad pro LTE. On AT&T next and you can get one for every one that is the cheapest way trust me you can have one the wife can have one and both of your kids can have one it may be about 300 too 400 in taxes at check out then about 250 too 350 a month but this think how happy every one will be

I have an app called Sidefari I use to do this. Shame it had to be 3rd party but I fully expect this to become part of iOS at some point.

My iPad pro has been shipped YAY what build a bomb fire and dace around it with me

I can't wait too get it on Friday am vary happy right now that I went too my AT&T store and took care of that speed bump in the road I had. And my now iPad pro is on the way Yay

I can't wait too see what Apple A9X chip can do that the A8X chip can't do on the iPad Air 2
[doublepost=1457048919][/doublepost]And I am done shopping for the year. The only other thing I may do is too save up $ too pay off my iPad Air 2 and upgrade it too the iPad pro 9.7 tablet but we'll see on that one

I was given the iPad Pro and the ASK as Christmas/birthday presents. I have enjoyed using them. I use it mostly for consumption, but now I am exploring using Lightroom to work with my photography collection. I do not use it for serious picture taking - that's reserved for my Nikon D7100. But the larger screen is great, especially for 66 year old eyes.

I'm about to look into one - time to bequeath an old but working MacBook Air (2010) to a family member as I don't use a laptop much more. My iPhone 6 Plus does a lot of what I need app wise and the vast majority of my stuff is Cloud and streaming based so a new iPad is in order. Still using an iPad Mini (2nd gen). But suspect this will get a new home too. Time to take the plunge.

I'm waiting a few weeks to decide on the Air 3 (or Pro).

As for sharing. I don't share. My wife uses her PC and her iPhone. My daughter uses her iPod touch and PC. And my son uses a PC and rarely, my iPhone 6s Plus. No one uses my iPad.

I sold my Air 2 and am anxious to replace it. Maybe Staples will run their $150 off sale again...

I use a rMBP. Neither my wife, daughter or son have EVER gotten a virus. Not even once. And newer PC's aren't that slow. Not as fast as my Mac though.

I this got back and got me a shock drop tough case for the iPad pro. And boy where iPad pro case hard too find right now

My iPad pro is now here and I love it this is what the air 2 should have been all sound vibration that the iPad Air 2 has I'd fully gone with this iPad pro

I love this iPad pro. Although I said I wasn't going to get the smart keypad I ended up buying one. I am actually more impressed with it than I thought I would be. So far I am enjoying it.

As for the iPad pro the screen is amazing. Viewing media content is fantastic and not having to pinch and zoom so often is also nice.
