I'm surprised this hasn't been posted about already on here, i'm even more surprised it hasn't appeared on the front page part of the forum. This is the latest from 9to5 Mac

http://9to5mac.com/2015/09/07/ipad-pro-specs/

Apparently the iPad Pro will have a "Monster screen" will run A9X chip, will be able to have full apps running side by side. The entry model will have 64GB of storage and there will be a 12GB option. it will come in gold, silver and space grey, there will also be a force touch stylus BUT it will be an added extra, along with a optional keyboard cover.

It is also said that the maxed out iPad Pro with LTE will cost near the price of the new Macbook

So what does everyone think? personally i will probably buy one, i've been looking forward to seeing the iPad Pro for a while now.

Of course this is going to depend on IF Apple do indeed announce the iPad Pro at tomorrows event, i'm not sure how reliable 9to5 Mac is.

Over the past few months, I transitioned over to an iPad Air 2 from a Retina Macbook once the second beta of IOS 9 came out for all of my mobile work. I have not regretted it once, but I sure will take the extra screen real estate and what I hope is a good official keyboard from Apple. Bring it on.

We’re told that the pricing of the highest-end iPad Pro versions with LTE chips will compare closely to Apple’s latest MacBooks.
So one possibility for the prices is the following:
  • 128 GB with LTE: $1229
  • 128 GB Wi-Fi: $1099
  • 64 GB Wi-Fi: $999
[EDIT: See my new post below.]

That's a big step up in price from the iPad Air 2 64 GB Wi-Fi at $599. I was surprised that the prices could be this high, but I suppose the $1000+ price point makes sense given the iPad Pro's features and positioning.

I wonder if there is another explanation for the high price of the highest-end iPad Pro. The following is more wishful thinking than anything else.
  1. Two different display resolutions. The lower-end model will have the 2732x2048 resolution leaked earlier while the higher-end model will have a 3x Retina display on the order of 3K or 4K. While we have seen 3x iPad image assets in an iOS beta last year, I think that this possibility is unlikely because a single iOS device hasn't had multiple display resolutions before.
  2. A 256 GB model at the high end, which makes sense for a "pro" iPad. I don't think this will happen because otherwise 9to5mac would almost certainly have mentioned this capacity.

And then there's the price of the stylus and the Apple iPad Pro keyboard so I think it will top out at around £1,400 at the most. From the latest rumours there will be no USB-C, I wonder what features in IOS 9.1 Apple will be adding for the iPad Pro?
I'm looking forward to the two apps working side by side, also the bigger screen will be great for viewing content, watching movies/TV shows and so on, also editing using iMovie will be better. People talking about the iPad Pro needing OS X I personally don't think it does, I think the bigger screen and features in IOS 9.1 will make it a great device and the Apple Keyboard case (if there is one) will make it great for when we need to type.

For me, they will have to have fixed the horrible vibration problem that they had with the iPad Air 2's audio. If that isn't fixed then I'll pass. The previous iPads had a standard of quality and audio should be on the high priority list.

9to5Mac has new information on the iPad Pro's capacities and prices (as well as other things). According to them, the base model will be 32 GB.
  • 32 GB Wi-Fi: $799
  • 64 GB Wi-Fi: $899
  • 128 GB Wi-Fi: $999
  • LTE models may cost $130 more for the equivalent capacity, as usual

I wanna hear more about the stylus.

Do most people here prefer one or not. I have a 3DS and some games required and some can play without. I never own a palm but I assume its time consuming to take in and out just to do some work.

Will ios game make adjustment to the stylus or any future apps? I just don't see how this would work.

For $799, Mac OS or no go. Would much rather have a MacBook unless they're planning some serious killer features.

$599, it's a possible buy for me.

Hell, if it dual-boots Mac OS then I'd buy the highest-end model.

I'm undecided on a stylus, as a creative individual it might help with drawing and so on, but i'm also interested in the rumoured Apple Keyboard case/cover for the iPad Pro, as a writer it might helpful. Personally i think if Apple has done a stylus then there is a good reason for it and they have done something different with it, not long now until we find out.

School me on the file system.

A Folder/File system that I can move files to and from. I need over 3000 customer contracts on my iPad. We use DropBox but there are times in the filed where we have no WiFi or Cellular service. If Apple does not allow a true Folder/File system it will be a no for me too!

I am betting Apple will not! The Surface Pro 4 will have to do!
