iPad Pro iPad Pro Mail problem

Bought new iPad Pro 9.7" when I open Mail app instead of going to inbox mail it goes to a blank screen every time and I have to click back on inbox to get back to mail to see all may mail. Software bug..?

on my 12.9 if I have it open in portrait mode it goes to the last selected email I had up..Never seen this though

mine still opens to the last email I was on
