Apple's fall "iPhone 12" keynote will happen on Sept. 8 and a subsequent iPad Pro and Apple Silicon Mac event will take place Oct. 27, a known leaker claims.

According to an Apple leaker, the Cupertino tech giant will announce new the ""iPhone 12" lineup, as well as new Apple Watch and iPad models, at an online-only event on Tuesday, Sept. 8.

The leaker, who goes by the name "ihacktu," also alleges that Apple will unveil some version of AirPower at the keynote event. Although the first version of AirPower was scrapped, there have been rumors that the company is developing an improved variant for release.

iPad and iPad Pro on two different events makes no sense to me. AirPower- I’ll believe it when I see it. :D

I believe no what will be out in October will be the 10.8 iPad.

air power is coming but when? Makes perfect sense for apple to bring out air power the same day they are not giving you a charging brick.

Something like AirPower (what a silly name) might come, it will be interesting to see if it goes the way of AirPods or mimics the “success’ of HomePod. Either could happen.

As much as I want to see a new iPad Pro this year, I think 2021 is more likely.

However, if they do announce new iPads & iPad Pros, splitting it up might make sense because the iPad Pro will likely share some key features with the Apple Silicon Macs. A beefier processor is the obvious one, but improved mini-LED display is another big one. Announce the iPP in September and you steal some of the new Mac's thunder. Announce the updated vanilla iPad in October and you risk that important, but less sexy product getting overshadowed.

Splitting them up then makes sense. September will be updated consumer-facing products. October will be professional-facing products (this also assumes the first Apple Silicon Mac is a 13" MacBook Pro as rumored).

They've done it before.

Not with the iPad pro they haven't - First Gen Sept 2015, Second Gen - June 2017, 3rd Gen October 2018 and 4th Gen March 2020.

I don't think they would have bothered with the light refresh of the iPad Pro in March if they were going to launch a "new" iPad Pro in Sept/Oct - much more likely we see the iPP next year now

Not with the iPad pro they haven't

Correct, but they have with an iPad when the pro's didn't even exist.

The truth is, nobody has any idea what Apple are going to release come September/October.

I am waiting to take delivery of the 2020 iPad Pro next week hopefully. I know Apple MAY release an updated model this year with the A14 processor, or early next year. But so what. I have a need for the device now. Even when the A14 model comes out, it's not magically going to make the 2020 device slow. It's still a powerhouse with 6gb of RAM. It'll still be going strong in 5 years (if it doesn't bend before then...)

It wasn't really an update. It was more of a bump so yeah, fall 2020 makes sense for proper update.
A14X (instead of 2 years old A12) and hopefully stronger chassis so it doesn't bend like paper.

Apple just released the 2020 iPad Pros not long ago. They won’t be releasing more in 3 months or so.

That "update" was miniscule, with plug-and-play parts. Definitely reminiscent of classic Apple clear-out-the-old-stock "updates" that precede a big update.

I agree it was a spec bump for those who had a previous model. For someone like me who just purchased the 2020 pro model for the first time (coming from a mini 5) it was more than a spec bump.

Granted, Apple can do whatever it want’s release schedule wise. I just don’t see them releasing another group of pro models within months of a previous release.

You, and some others could be right. We shall see shortly.

This is a good observation. If Apple wants to give something back when they take away the charger in the box, this is it. Buy just one charger to charge all your Apple stuff. It will charge your iPhone, your AirPods, and your Watch all at the same time.

As far as the iPad goes, well it makes perfect sense to introduce new versions of the base iPad and iPad Air (10.8”) alongside the new iPhones in September, and then introduce a new iPad Pro alongside Apple Silicon in October. They have split up the iPad releases previously, so don’t see why they wouldn’t do it again?

I can see them doing this to showcase the capability of the new Apple Silicon Mac’s. An A14X in the new iPad Pro’s is touted and shown to be faster than anything that Intel has in the laptop space hands down...and then they reveal an all new chip family for the MBP 13” (B-series maybe?? B1? B14? Who knows? S series is already for the Watch SoC’s...) that will knock people’s socks off. As in - “We’re extremely proud of what our engineering team has been able to do with the A series chips in iPhone and iPad. They are truly desktop-class SoC’s, already faster than 99% of any laptop you can buy up until today. That is why we absolutely couldn’t wait to show you what they have been able to accomplish with our own custom designed Apple Silicon for the Mac.” Curtain falls, industry experts go crazy online...tech industry stocks start looking like roller coaster designs, etc etc. 😆

(B-series maybe?? B1? B14? Who knows? S series is already for the Watch SoC’s...)
M-series? Obv for Macintosh.

But I think you've presented a very plausible scenario. I think it depends more on if the display tech is ready for production/prime-time. And if the world economy doesn't collapse...

I say let the dreamers dream.🤣

I highly doubt they would bring another iPad Pro right after they just did earlier this year, but who am I to shut down someones dream.

As someone burned after buying a $829 iPad 3 lte 64gb in spring 2012. Only to get iPad 4 released a few months later in the fall.

I purposely avoided the iPad Pro 2020 model. Rather I opted for refurbished $494 (military discount iPad Pro 11 64gb when I decided to buy an iPad Pro.

I currently own ipad pro 9.7 (spring 2016) and also iPad Pro 10.5. My son and daughter both use them now.

Lol, I was very lucky that time, my father bought me an iPad a month after the 4 was released and I realized he had indeed bought me the iPad 4.

I’m very happy with my new 2020 iPad Pro 11”, the fact that it has 6GB RAM which is an upgrade from the 4GB that Apple first debuted in the 1st gen iPad Pro in 2015, makes me happy as it means this thing will be fine for at least the next 5-6years at least. Even if they did make another iPad Pro this year, the RAM would more than likely remain unchanged.

Put in another way, with Apple upgrading RAM in the 2020 iPad Pros already, it leaves them with not much else to do if they brought another model now, it would probably have 6GB RAM to and maybe a A13X?

I am personally betting on them bringing a iPad Air 2020 with A13, 4GB RAM, Pro Motion Display and upgraded camera system like the iPad Pros.

I can't see Apple bringing promotion to the iPad Air yet. It's supposed to be in doubt even for the iPhone to get promotion this year. I reckon it's another iteration away for the iPad Air, unfortunately, because its a big improvement on user experience imo.

Only can think of is mini led and

1. Wouldn’t they go into iPhone first
2. With COVID I’d think the supply chain be a bust so even if they had planned to release I’d think it’d be delayed
