I ordered a 12.9 Pro this morning, with magic keyboard and pencil. The pencil and keyboard will be here on Tuesday, whereas I have to wait a frustratingly vague “3-4 weeks” for the actual iPad 😫

Welcome here. The first 2 weeks will be easier believe me. When you get closer to the deadline you'll have "processing" feeling all over your body. 😂 But we're here to support you. We all have been through. It's worth it at the and.

I’ve seen many Cases of the Dbrand Magic Keyboard skin not leaving any Residue on Twitter and elsewhere. That’s why I went with dbrand instead of Sopiguard and other
Ohhh, I would not use Goo Gone. I would use rubbing alcohol and a Microfiber Cloth. I watched a YouTube video that showed that using Rubbing Alcohol is effective at cleaning the Keyboard without damaging the Surface. Or you could buy a dbrand skin! Lol.
What country are you in? Here in the US, more specifically Texas, the 12.9 is shipping in 2-3 weeks.
Wow, maybe I should have waited until October to buy an iPad. Back in Early July, the shipping on both the 12.9” and 11” here in Texas was about 3-4 or even 5 weeks sometimes.
I would probably not have ordered if it was 5 weeks cuz I would die lol. I ordered sept 17th and it was 3-4 weeks, but it changed to 2-3 weeks like the following week, so I’m hoping it doesn’t take the full 30 days it had been taking.
I was wondering.. I’ve never been one to have the latest and greatest Apple anything (hence now upgrading from 9.7 to 2020 12.9).Pre pandemic was it normal to have extended shipping times for new Apple devices? Or is this all a result of shutdowns?
Most of the Delays are probably due to the Pandemic. As soon as the iPad was released, shipping times slipped into several weeks unless you Pre-Ordered.
Its probably down to people order more due to working from home. Covid has probably helped Apple's sales in this regard. Its been the same here in the U.K iPad Pro times have been weeks out.
Yeah, I think along with supply chain issues and more demand for this iPad because of people working from home has helped their sales. The amount they’re selling may also even be a contributing factor to why they have such long wait times.
That makes sense, but do you think a bulk of people are actually working on their iPads? I know the goal of Apple for a while has been to make the iPads more like computers, but have they actually achieved this?
Personally I think Apple introducing the Magic Keyboard has helped them massively with iPad Pro. Almost everyone seems to really like it. I think people are buying them and working from home more, including students. With the Magic Keyboard people can work on spreadsheets, word documents and even presentations.
The iPad Pro can even be used by people planning, artists and so on. The Apple Pencil is easily the best out there and adding the Magic Keybaord (although pricey) opens up the iPad Pro. I think all of this added together means more peoples have been willing to buy them.
In the future I think the iPad Pro base will grow even further, the new iPad Pro is said to include Min-LED and an even faster processor (A14X probably). Personally I think the future if very bright for the iPad.
I can only speak for myself but it really was Magic Keyboard that pushed me towards the purchase. Until it was introduced I was only considering a 13 inch MBP/MBA for my portable needs as I had an iPad 1, 2 and first Retina mini that I never quite found the use for. On screen keyboard was always a pain to use for me and even with external ones navigating and selecting text just didn't work. I will admit that uncertainty with political & economical situation in the world and worries about potential changes in currency exchange rates nudged me towards a faster purchase as well though.
I’m in England. Shipping times for the Pro have been like this for a while.
Shipping times were actually a day or so when it was first released, due to having launch day stock available. Then they slipped to 3-5 days, 5-7, 7-10, 2-3 weeks, then 3-4 weeks where the 11" models are currently still at. Though the 12.9" has improved to 2-3 weeks again, so hopefully that's a sign of things to come for the 11" models.
That is why my regular iPad came so quickly. I preordered it and had it about five days from China.
I know this has been asked like a million times but can anyone recommend a matte screen protector thats not the Paperlike which can be bought in the UK?

I finally caved and bought the $9 Apple USB-C to 3.5mm Headphone Jack Adapter. I want to be able to use my Proper Headphones with this iPad instead of just my AirPods.
It comes on October 13-14 from Amazon. The wait begins.
