after refreshing the order site on apple’s website every 3- 4 hours for the last week, my order has finally moved from processing to preparing to ship. I ordered an 11 inch 2020 IPP 128gb no engraving on 07/23/20. How long has it been taking for everyone to receive their device after it goes to preparing to ship? It’s still showing the original arrival dates of 08/24 to 08/31 so I’m wondering if I would get it sooner than 08/24.

Glad I’m not alone in that department. Haha. Although now iPad Pro videos have taken over my recommended tab.

That makes three of us... Funny thing is that I have an iPad Pro 12.9" first Gen, yet I've seen every video called "tips for your iPad Pro", "Things to do with your new iPad Pro", "20 things you didn't know about your iPad", etc. I learn nothing new at all... I've watched at least 15 magic keyboard reviews... Last night I watched "Good Notes Vs Notability" video's.

It's obvious we all just want our iPad to arrive badly...

Just ordered me an Apple Pencil 2... I'm getting their tactic with the long delivery times on the iPad Pro, makes you wanna order other stuff to fill the void while waiting!

Woke up this morning to no change in ZhengZhou, but FedEx moved up my delivery time from 9pm estimated to earlier in the morning? What do they know that I don't?!?!

After lurking here for what feels like ages, I decided to join in on the waiting since my IPP finally moved to preparing to ship this morning! Ordered an 11" 128GB on July 22 and it's expected between the 24th-31st but MAN this is the most impatient I've ever been.

Strange, I ordered the same as you but on the 29th and my delivery is for the 20th-27th!

My package moved from zhengzhou to inches this morning, and the delivery date disappeared. Original expected delivery on thursday (Ordered July 12th). Hopefully it still comes on thursday!
Mine spent 4 days in Incheon, but once it left there, it moved quickly. It went from Incheon to Louisville within 24 hours, and is supposed to be delivered today. At first, it pushed my delivery date back 2 days to Thursday, but overnight it reverted back to today. It’s been loaded on the truck! I hope you receive yours on the original date.

Just received a UPS status update: MY PACKAGE WILL BE DELIVERED TODAY!!! Sorry for shouting, but I’m so excited!🥳
It’s the best feeling to Open the Front Door and look down at a

Brown Apple Package

It has their “Special“ Premium Cardboard Material, with a Pull Tab for the Shipping Tape.

I thought getting my IPP would get rid of my Insanity, but it hasn’t. Oh well.

I’m literally not touching the Screen of my iPad Pro, it’s so Pristine and Fingerprint Free. I’m literally carrying a Microfiber Cloth in my Pocket so that if any Fingerprints do get on it, I wipe them off.

WHAT HAVE I BECOME?

Well, we can both check ourselves into the same asylum! I’m exactly the same way with my devices! I always have a microfiber cloth with me. I hate smudges and fingerprints. OCD!

”Special” cardboard material! 🤣

Ok. I regret using a Microfiber cloth to clean my iPad. Now there are little Scratches everywhere on the iPad’s screen. Don’t do this. Please, for the sake of your iPad.

EDIT: I’m dumb, apparently it was just Lint from my “Lint Free” Microfiber Cloth. It probably got the lint from putting the Cloth in my Pocket. Huh. Lint looks a lot like small hairline scratches on the screen, and when you run your finger over it it feels like there are scratches too. But after Frantically Rubbing my iPad Pro’s Screen with a Different Microfiber Cloth, they went away. I wish real scratches went away like that too.

Ugh. That scared me soo much, I’ve had it for 4 days and I thought I had already caused Irreversible Damage. Doesn’t help that Screen Replacements are:

A: Expensive ($350+)

B: Pretty Difficult, I could barely replace the Screen on my old iPad Pro, it was held down by so much glue. This new one is much, much worse. Even If I got someone else to do it, the Labor Cost would be immense. So baby Your iPad Pro Screens and your iPad in general.

Day 20 for me now, still processing. Ordered an 11 inch with an engraving on the same day as you with the same delivery window, and it's definitely delaying things a bit longer. Still have yet to be charged as well.

Totally jealous!!
No movement for me overnight! There is a flight around 1 from Louisville to LAX though. (JUST KIDDING IT JUST UPDATED MY DATE BACK TO TOMORROW!)

I’m also super mad at myself for getting just the smart folio instead of the magic keyboard ... and now it’s too late to return it 😭😭😭

Well, right now I‘m not gonna be using it for much more than entertainment - so the extra USB-C really isn’t a priority for me at the moment, and I can always get one at a later time. (I‘ve had my first gen IPP since 2015 and still use it every single day - so I think this one will last just as long)

But my delivery date just got updated back to tomorrow - Louisville to LAX en route right now :)
I love the extra USB-C, but I don’t use it that much because:

I start the Day at 100%, and by the end of the day it’s at 10-20%.
I leave it Overnight without charging it. Then when I wake up, while I’m getting ready I Plug it in through the Actual Port on the iPad itself, and Charge it using the 29-Watt USB-C Charger. After about 30-45 Minutes, it’s at 80-90%. If I leave it for another 20ish Minutes, it goes to 100%. I notice it Charges very fast from 1% to 90%, but afterwards it charges very slowly.

After that the Cycle repeats. I use it for about 12-13 Hours a day Typing Documents, checking email, Watching YouTube and Hulu, and taking notes for School in Notability. I love the Battery life on this thing. My old iPad Pro 9.7” used to last 5 Hours just watching YouTube WITH Airplane Mode on, so something was wrong with it’s battery.

Granted, I used the 29 Watt Charger with my iPad Pro 9.7”, and it wasn’t designed for it. Maybe that’s why.

I don’t use the Passthrough as much as I thought I would because the Battery Life is just so good on this thing.

I use the passthrough mainly because the wall plug is on that side when I'm sitting in my favorite chair. The only time I notice the battery draining faster than normal is playing a couple games at 60fps, which I'd expect so play plugged in.

So the passthrough is only just that? It’s only a path for power? It’s not another extra port?
I guess that makes sense.

As for battery I also have the 29 watt USBC charger - obviously its been from usbc to lightning but not I have The 2m USBC to USBC and I’m sure the battery life is great!

For my Old IPP I had the 29W Brick with the 1-Meter and 2-Meter USB-C to Lightning Cables. For this new one, I‘m using the same Brick but I am using the 1 Meter USB-C Cable that’s in the box. I’ll get the 2 meter cable when I need it, right now I don’t.
