IPad Pro Smart Keyboard texture

whenever I tried out the Smart Keyboard in the stores I always thought the texture of the keyboard was the same or similar to the front cover.

Now I have bought one and the keyboard has a grainy texture like plastic rather than rubber. Is this normal?

Yes, they are quite different in texture.

I don’t know how I never noticed in store - the light reflecting off the keyboard also gives strange visual affects
