Try the Logitech K780, complete with slot to stand the iPad up in.

That slot to me does not look like it could hold the iPad Pro safely.
I would be in fear each time I touched the screen the tablet would move a tiny amount, resulting in it eventually come crashing to the desk it is on.
Further, wouldn’t the weight of the tablet raise the keyboard from the desk, thus allowing the tablet to fall?

I have used it with the previous 2017 generation of the 12.9 inch iPad Pro and it holds it securely. The triangular wedge at the back of the keyboard prevents it from tipping backwards – but the keyboard itself is pretty heavily weighted, so it easily counteracts the weight of the 12.9. It can even be used on your lap reasonably comfortably.

Bear in mind also that the new model is around 10% lighter, so this would be even less of an issue.
