Pre-ordered iPad Pro with Cellular for in store pick up however the Verizon sim won't arrive to the store till Friday. Can I get a Verizon sim from a Verizon store or do i have to wait for the sim to arrive at Apple Store?

If you want to use it on Verizon with prepaid data, you'd better wait. Apparently a Verizon store will only give you a SIM if tied to a postpaid account (read: activation fee).

I ordered Pro with Cellular and ordered the Verizon sim card as well. The order said that the sim wouldn't be available until Friday but I just asked the guy who checked me out if they have Verizon sim cards in the back and he brought me out one.

I've always been able to get VZW to waive the activation fee, but I'm a long-time customer.

Yeah, I was forced to upgrade my verizon sim on my last iPad and they made me activate it and it sucked because from that point on I could not manage the monthly billing (or choice to cancel it) on the iPad directly like all the other ones. You had to use the online verizon web login. Very inconvenient. I was planning on using verizon but they buried the Free Verizon SIM option in all the "extras" after you skipped the engraving option. All I saw was the big green "Add to Bag" button at the bottom of the webpage and clicked it not knowing the verizon sim was optional.

I did that with my Air to Air 2 transition - worked perfectly.
