Have you actually tried using it on your iPad? I also have to pay to use the hotspot on my phone, but for some reason it doesn't check if I pay for hotspot on my iPad.I have Verizon unlimited on my iPhone but it's the old Nationwide plan so in order for me to activate a personal hotspot I would need to add that to my plan because when I try to activate a personal hotspot on my iPhone it says I first need to add it to my account so when I go into my account settings through Verizon it says a personal hotspot will cost me $23.00 a month, so to use my celluar iPad on a personal hotspot with my unlimited plan will cost me an additional $23.00 a month. I'm not paying that.
Yes. It would still work.thanks for all the replies guys, i too have the nationwide 700 minutes plan, and it said i need to buy hotspot feature on my iphone. however i stumble upon this thread
https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/verizon-4g-lte-ipad-with-verizon-4g-phone-sim-card.1336647/
but was not sure if it still applies since that thread is quite old and alot of things might've changed since.
so i guess my new question is would it work on the nationwide 700 minutes plan that normally would require you to buy the hotspot feature for like 30 bucks a month? without paying 30 bucks?
