If OLED iPads have terrible color shift viewing angles like my iPhone 12 and 14 Pro, you can count me out. I’ll stick with my 2020 11” until I have to take it off life support.

That'll push me to upgrade. I ain't touching those nasty Mini LED ones. If only the 12.9" iPad has it i'll get that but ideally I'd like an 11" iPad with OLED

mini led is better brighter and no burn in
I have owned countless OLED displays and have never had burn in. My launch iPhone 12 Pro Max included. Both my TVs are OLED with thousands of hours usage. No burn in.

Mini LED is awful and they should get rid of it.

Not true I had burn in on my 13 pro max after a few months and mini led is fine it’s amazing on thr macbooks even apps like vivid make it super bright and great colour oled wouldn’t allow that as they can’t go so bright the whites on OLED tvs have a limiter

this doesnt make sense. if they are gonna migrate to micro-led a year later why would they experiment with oled?! just to have a different product for 2 years?! does not make sense at all. they would just wait a few more years for micro-led to mature and adopt it at all product lines.

I hope they do dump Mini LED, my iPad Pro has a single semi-dead LED, which leaves a brown-ish spot on the screen when viewing pure whites. Pressing down on it causes it to work again, but eventually that's going to stop working.

2020 iPP 11 owner here, I was planning (before it was announced) to get the 2022 iPP with M2 but other than the wide angle FaceTime camera and proper external display support, I would see little advantage. Maybe faster photo & video editing, but that is not enough to justify the upgrade because I do it occasionally as a hobby..

I am looking forward to seeing a bit more than just a new CPU/SoC..
I hope the new iPP comes at early 2024..

Just bought an m2 12.9
I loved its screen until, in these dark days, I saw clearly what mini-LED means.
OMG
I swear it’s quite junk - that blooming effect - horrible! Looks like there’s pixelated parts of the screen, squares, which are gray. It’s not really blooming, it’s that the area that contains something has a square around it which is grey-ish.

That’s that I guess…. OLED is definitely needed.

iPad Pro with OLED has been a rumor before 2018 model. If you just consume data you're better off with the base model iPad. So when the screen cracks you can cheaply replace it with a new iPad.

11” OLED iPad Pro is an instant buy for me. Would finally convince me to upgrade.

Hope it also doesn’t take till 2026 for it to arrive in the MacBook Pro.
Agreed 11 inch is best size for portability and he good to finally see a screen upgrade

Micro led is no where near ready

3-5 years is my guess
