Shopping for an iPad. Seems like many places are sold out. Even Apple has ship dates of April 3rd.

Coronavirus supply chain squeeze? New release soon? I’ve been out of the loop on rumors and such.

I always have this internal debate when buying tech products...buy or wait for the new version.

Really?? Wow. It’s not like it’s a newly released product. That explains why my Apple Watch Series 5 has a ship date of 3/27.

Apples official Refurbished website Has 11' available in everything besides 1TB, all being shipped immediately it appears with delivery date of the 17'th. I can personally attest to the quality of Apples refurbished products, great devices.

As well as the 12.9

Also includes a full one year warranty! My 11 Pro is a refurb and wouldn’t know it if I didn’t know.

Apple closes all stores outside China until March 27 so this could be a factor of delayed shipment.

In the market for an iPad mini...seems like most rumors point to new iPad Pro this spring, maybe iPad mini this Autumn at earliest. I may just pick up the current one for $349 from Amazon if it doesn't look like a new one will emerge soon.

The Chinese retail stores that apple closed have nothing to do with the production and distribution of apple products, aside from acting as a midpoint for the local residents.
You two are thinking of Foxconn, which recently resumed production.
B&H has several Pro models in stock.
For full price...

No one is forced to purchase from there....

Dates have slipped here in the U.K as well. Interestingly the iPad Pro is the only iPad that has slipped to 25th March - 1st April. It doesn't necessarily mean that updates are coming soon, it could be because of the latest virus issues.

I'm not sure if Apple would release an iPad Pro in a press release, especially with them adding a 3 camera system with a TOF sensor.

I’m hoping Walmart gets som back in stock soon... if not a refurbished one isn’t so bad.

I would argue a refurbished one is better then new. They have the same benefits like 1 year warranty and you can get Apple care on it ( if bought from Apple.com or their store) . You get a new case so it’s basically new.

And a new battery. Definitely better than new because it's been looked over front to back by a tech, with any issues found fixed/corrected, software updated, etc. I've always bought refurbs from Apple. Best deal out there in my opinion.

Logically, refurbished cannot be better than new. You have many original components that have been used for an unknown amount of time, despite that they meet original specs. There are breakdown videos of refurbished iPads showing how Apple has repaired obviously damaged iPads then selling as refurbished. Refurbished may perform as well, but it's a comforting fantasy to say refurbished is better than new.

Eh every Apple refurbished product I’ve had tho was replacement devices have worked out better then brand new devices. Happened with my iPhone 4 which had a speaker issue and my iPhone 6 Plus which had to be replaced because something happened to the LCD display when I cracked my screen.
