My question is......can you Ichat or facetime from the Ipad to either the Iphone or MBP? I was thinking if it did i would be great to see the family while on the road. Thank you

You can FaceTime to an iPhone, iPod, or Mac that also has FaceTime.

Regarding iChat:

There is no "iChat" application on the iPad yet, but you can use the free "AIM" app or other instant messenger apps to chat with iChat buddies from the iPad. Currently I am liking the "imo" messenger the best.

Just keep in mind that for a stock iPad 2, you'll need wifi access to Facetime while on the go...
