Which cloud storage should I go with for my iPad ?

How will you use the cloud storage? Each product has its strengths and weaknesses.

I guess mostly for pictures on my iPad but still looking for the best app to view everything on the cloud storage of my chose from my iPad.

Well if images is the primary usage, why not iCloud as its integrated into both iOS and macOS. Plus the cost of added storage is very inexpensive (50GB for 99 cents). Why make things overly complex, if a solution is baked into the OS and it meets the needs, use it

Very true!

Thanks.

If you are doing any cross platform work, consider dropbox. Icloud is fine for photos. Icloud drive is very sketchy for cross platform work, may be better in all apple ecosystem

iCloud plus another method. Especially if you ever end up on Android or Windows.

It’s easy to end up with photos, backups, and want 100-200GB. If you use Office365 then your monthly fee include 1TB. Google Drive is well integrated into iOS and Mac.

Thanks!

Does anyone here store videos on the cloud? Curious.

Assuming movies, takes too much space and becomes too expensive. Netflix and Amazon Prime as well as digital HD copies from Blu-ray (accessible via MoviesAnywhere, iTunes or Vudu) provide sufficient content selection if I wanted to stream videos from a cloud service.

+1 on Dropbox. I've tried Google Drive but its file naming conventions break compatibility with some apps I use that rely on a consistent filename system.

I use OneDrive and DropBox because I have a mixed environment - besides my 10.5" iPP, I have an Android phone & 8" tablet and Windows 10 laptop & desktop. I make minimal use of iCloud.

If you have Amazon Prime, you get unlimited photo storage with I believe 5GB for other files for free. Their lowest tier add-on storage is 100GB for $12/yr (twice the storage for same price as iCloud).

Personally, as others, different use cases:

  • Dropbox: files most useful to me away from home and data syncing platform for apps that support this
  • Amazon: photos backup and offsite encrypted copies of personal documents/records
  • Google: photo sharing platform and offsite encrypted records
  • OneDrive: offsite encrypted records
  • Box: mirror copy of Dropbox content, for the rare occasion Dropbox is down
