Does anyone know what my iPad Pro could be doing at the Depot?
I'll give a little background. I brought my iPad Pro in to a third-party authorized re-seller (see my thread: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/uneven-backlight-spotlighting-from-an-angle.1980167/). I was told it failed their diagnostic exam and I'd have it back in 1-2 days. In the past, I've always had my replacement devices next-day from these guys. They're pretty quick, as a rule.
Today I called as we were on day 3 and they hadn't responded to my email. I was told it was sent to the "Depot" because they wanted to be sure it wasn't a more widespread issue. I've never had this happen from Apple before, and I run tech support for a small lab, so I've dealt with dozens if not hundreds of Apple devices. Does anyone know what the deal is? Are they doing a screen-repair only (for the backlight), or a full replacement?
Thanks.
