iPad retina display laminated without gap like 4S?

Anyone know if the retina display on the new iPad is the same as the iPhone 4/4S where the screen is very close to the touch screen glass and there's no gap visible like there is on the iPad 1/2? I think they called it laminated something-or-other?

Haven't seen any mention of that yet but it's one of the things that makes the iPhone retina so great- it's like you're actually touching the icons.

    Anyone?

Do you happen to have a link that talks about this. I believe you, but I was looking around for some info on it. Thanks!
