The cheapest iPad in this sale is the 64GB Wi-Fi 9th generation iPad at $249.99, down from $329.00. For a more recent model, Best Buy has the 64GB Wi-Fi 10th generation iPad at $349.00, which is an all-time low price at $100 off.

Otherwise, you'll find every model of the 10th generation iPad on sale at a record low price during this sale. This includes all Wi-Fi and cellular tablets, in all colors.

iPad Air

Similarly, Best Buy has every model of the 5th generation iPad Air on sale at an all-time low price, starting at $449.99 for the 64GB Wi-Fi tablet, down from $599.00. These are $150 off across the board, and Best Buy is currently the only retailer online that has every model in every color on sale.

iPad Mini

Lastly, the 64GB Wi-Fi iPad mini 6 is down to $399.99 this weekend at Best Buy, from $499.00. You can also get the 256GB Wi-Fi tablet for $549.99, which is another $99 discount. These two sales are second-best prices on the iPad mini 6.

Hoping for a new mini sooner than later.
Some related rumors from ET see https://www.etnews.com/20231116000282 which you can translate.

ProMotion screen

The screen in the 7th gen model isn’t expected to grow from the current 8.3-inch, but there may be new screen technology. A post on a South Korean forum back in November 2021 indicated Apple had ordered 8.3-inch displays from Samsung that support 120Hz maximum refresh rates. If true, the post on Clien (translated here) could mean the next mini offers the ProMotion ultra-smooth scrolling feature currently seen on the iPad Pro, iPhone 13 Pro models, and 14- & 16-inch MacBook Pro. This could address the minor issue of “jelly scrolling” that some users have complained about with the current iPad mini.

Yes, as I posted elsewhere, you’d think that Apple would be in a hurry to make the jelly scrolling problem a thing of the past and bring out the iPad mini sooner rather than later.

iPad lineup
The reason for it is Apples up-sell product strategy.
There are only really two logical iPads in the line-up: the base iPad (base functionality, inexpensive) and the iPad Pro (what you really want, very expensive).
The rest of the line-up consists of a ladder of devices that exists for the purpose of enticing you to take one more step up, with carefully considered pricing tiers and features removed.
It’s not about giving you the best iPad for the money. What gets removed from the Pro model and the prices attached to those features depends on desireability rather than merit, utility or cost. Which is why, for practical minds, the line-up is frustrating or confusing because minor (and low cost) but useful things end up pushed to higher tiers for no other reason than market positioning. The purpose is not to make a desireable iPad and sell it. The purpose is to make the next step up seem desireable and sell that..
