Is it possible to use a tool like GrabIt or SnippIt or any other tool that captures a screen shot as an image file on the ipad? Or is that the kind of multitasking that ipad doesn't support?

iOS supports screenshots natively. Press and hold the power and home buttons at the same time.

If you press the home and power buttons simultaneously it will take a screen capture and save the image to your camera roll.
