As everyone knows the iPad uses Solid State memory technology for its storage. These solid state drives have been around a few years. Does anyone know what the failure rate is on these? Is it comparable to regular memory or a hard drive?

Same as any other flash memory. They don't fail often.

So you would equate it to have the reliability of a usb memory stick then, correct?

How does the performance of the flash memory in the iPad compare to the performance of the 128GB SSD in the MacBook Air? I'm just curious because I have an Air too.

    Thanks
