Good day - I'm on the email notification list with my local Apple store awaiting my 3G iPad 16GB. FWIW, I put in the request on May 4th - haven't heard anything yet.

Here's my dilemma. I (believe) I would like to automatically synch my iPad with my Windows Vista computer. However, my daughter's iPod touch is now configured as a device in iTunes in my Vista User Account on the same computer. I do not believe that I necessarily want her content (music, apps) to be synched over to my iPad. The question is, how to avoid this?

One thought I have is to create a new User Account in Vista solely for the iPad. Will this keep the iTunes Libraries separate?

An Apple tech I spoke with at the Apple store also suggested that if I hold down the Shift (or Control) key (possibly when connecting the iPad to the Vista computer) that I can create two different iTunes Libraries.

My objective then, is to automatically synch both devices on the same Windows computer while keeping our content separate. Any suggestions on how to accomplish this would be most appreciated.

    ~Dave

When you sync each device it has it's own profile. Set up playlists and sync them rather than all your content.

Yes, indeed Jody. I should buy myself a MacBook Pro. It was actually my son (13) who's turned me on to Apple products (he has an iPod touch as well) - I've been a long time PC user (and I admit, I love PCs very much). However, the Apple products more or less blow PCs away from a user experience vantage.

As a side note, I just received an email from the Apple store - my iPad is in!
