I'm not sure why I would use this as it would gobble up data allowance but just wanted to let people know as I was quite surprised! It was very smooth too - just as clean as over wi-fi!!

Did you start on WiFi? Have found that on my phone if the initial connection is established over wifi then the phone can stream the remainder over 3G. Although haven't done that for a while so might have changed.

nope, I had deliberately switched the wi-fi off :) .. I think it's cool but I will try not to use it as it will be a data guzzler !!

    Heard of iPhone.tvcatchup.com ?

It has all the UK free view channels live and works over 3G in perfect quality on iPhone and iPad :)

IPlayer is great - would love a native app to store shows to watch offline (say on the tube to work)

It was on the new Beta iPad page .. just go to bbc.co.uk/iplayer on the iPad and it jumps straight to it :)
