Has anyone else noticed that when the iPad is connected to your iMac via the USB ports on the back of the screen and you go to connect something else via the USB port on the keyboard (Nike+ Sportband in my case) you get an error message that there is not enough power to connect the second device? But, if you disconnect the iPad and connect the second device agani to the keyboard, it works just fine?

Is it that the iPad draws that much power?

The iPad draws more juice than many USB devices, and more than an iPhone.

I've seen the same error just connecting 2 thumb drives to an Apple keyboard connected to a Mini.

Historically, you can have problems connecting an iPhone through a hub (which connecting to a keyboard counts as one), so it wouldn't surprise me if it could cause problems with an iPad too.

I would suggest leaving the cable plugged directly into the computer.

Anyone know if the Airport Express has enough power to charge an iPad?
