I prefer my iPad to pretty much any laptop, email, web, Goodreader app and VPN covers 90+ percent of my daily needs. As a business tool, it's just a matter of setting it up to your specific needs.
IMO most people complain about the iPad are wanting to use it as a toy and in that aspect of its feature list yes, some probably miss flash and a camera. So I would agree, as a toy, it is missing some features people may want. As a business tool with a 10+ hour battery it's amazing.
For the record, Skyfire browser plays flash video now. Not perfect but it's possible. Main drawback that the browser seems rather laggy from what I've seen. However if you have to have flash, the playback is fine once it loads.
