Hi, I use my iPad very often and yesterday I was using it at my university and to connect it to the network I have to do exactly as I do on the iPod, connect it to the network and later on a screen appears asking me a username and a password which is obviously have.

When I try to connect my iPad to the network it simply does not connect, it stays in the screen and does nothing.

I must add that my iPod Touch connects perfectly works flawless.

My iPad has the latest 3.2.1 software update.

Turning off Autofill in Safari may allow you to sign-on. Go to Settings > Safari > Autofill and turn it Off. I believe that the iPod Touch defaults Safari Autofill to Off rather than On as on the iPad. This explains why the iPod Touch can connect while the iPad cannot. There is an interference between a dialog (save password?) that appears when Autofill is On and the sign-on process to the WiFi access point.

Nice job, worked perfectly, I think that was the problem.
