When I try and reboot the iPad like the iPhone holding home+power it just goes black. I can press or hold the power button and it does nothing.

About 2 minutes later the apple logo will finally pop up...

Should I go get a replacement?

Hold the Power Button and the Home button for 10 seconds. Let go of the Power Button, while holding down the Home Button. You should then be able to pass by...

(atleast, if my memory serves me correctly)

Yup that's what I'm tryin to do. It just goes to a black screen and won't power on... I can press the home button, power button but nothing happens. Eventually it will turn on but not like it should.

    Ok dokie

What was the last few things u had done that would have caused the iPad to go through this cycle?

Turn the iPad off. Connect it to your computer. Open iTunes. Then do the press-and-hold thing with both buttons again. Hopefully, at this point your computer will mount it in iTunes. If it does, let it do whatever it wants to do, and then choose the option to Restore the iPad back to factory settings. That will delete the current software and reload everything.

I'm going to restore as new tomorrow and see if that helps. If not I guess it's a trip to the Apple store!

Cause I was gonna say, if it's Jailbroken, you would need to DFU it in order for Apple to cover any concerns about it.

I used the Jailbreakme.com .. work'd like a charm. I did use the Spirit before... either or was fine. I just like the Jailbreakme cause I didnt hafta use a computer.. :)

Try those few steps I mentioned - I had to do this the other week.

For some strange reason, as soon as I unplugged my Composite AV cable from the iPad, it froze. Wouldn't reboot back to the OS. Very strange, so I just followed those Steps, and re-started. It took me a few tries to make sure I had the right sequence of events in order. :) basically, read the instructions carefully to a T :)

*btw, they said "Apple, AppleStore, Others..."* That the Composite AV Cable for the iPhone and iPod Touch wouldn't work for the iPad. Pppft, lol it works.. and works great.

(Mind you, TVOut2 from Cydia made it EVEN better! By Default, Only Youtube, Pictures,Videos would TV Out. But now.. everything, even the spring board! looks great) It's my portable media station!

I have 2 ipads in the house. One boots up normal when rebooting. This one still doesn't show the apple logo. Won't reboot.

    WTF?
