I want to say go with verizon, but all those speed tests Ive seen for iphone 4 att vs verizon show the ATT network is faster so WTF? I have no clue which to get either.
why cant they just make one that's universal to both vendors.they said the broadcom chip in the verizon iphone 4 supports both, so why couldnt they do it for the ipad2?
The Verizon iPhone 4 has better battery life than the ATT one.
Where did you get that info from? All things being equal (which the iPhone 4 & iPad 2 should be) GSM gets better battery life than CDMA.
I would imagine you could just pop your sim in it.Without having to worry about dropped calls, I'd say the AT&T version is the smart bet for iPad unless you live in an area without good 3G coverage. The data speeds are significantly faster on AT&T. And hopefully those of us with the original iPad and unlimited data can carry that plan over to the new iPad?
Does anyone have experience using an America-purchased iPad in Japan? I travel there regularly and wondered if either the AT&T or Verizon iPad2 might be able to be used over there.
I believe that an AT&T iPhone can connect to Japan's NTT phone network, but not sure if iPads would work that way, too.

Do you need to carry that extra thing around for Verizon like the iPad 1?
Or will the iPad 2 work by itself on Verizon?
no... the new ipads support verizon cdma. the old ipad1 was designed for gsm/umts only which is why u needed that mifi router thing to convert to wifi. I thought that was the lamest thing ever.![]()
