Grrr now I have to find a place to plug and charge it other then intended ......I do love the Batterie. I am amazed how long it actually last !

The short answer is yes...with conditions.
If your pad is plugged into your laptop and you turn the pad OFF then it will very slowly charge the pad. But if the pad is ON it will not charge it. I have tested this and it is true.
