Ipad3 camera suddenly showing purple fringe

This is my wife's Ipad3. She uses the iPad camera a lot. Just recently though photos she's taken have shown extreme purple-reddish fringing in the lower left and lower right of every photo. Something's definitely screwed up with the camera. She's planning to take it to the genius bar. I would think this qualifies for an exchange, don't you guys?
