Honestly cant see the point in improving the speakers, if you want stereo sound buy a plug in speaker or a stereo. Ridiculous.

denial because we are content with one? no. just like i am not in denial when i am content with the homescreen customization options. some people will jailbreak their devices just to get this, but it doesn't matter to me. it's a matter of priorities.
sure, two, three, three-hundred speakers would sound better. that's not really the point. speaking for myself, they could take the speaker out of the ipad and i would be ok. the screen is what matters. i'll plug in or use bluetooth if i want stereo.
anyhow, if they have it, great. if not, no problem.

One large hole doesn't significantly degrade the integrity of a sheet of glass. 100 small holes clumped together in a small area on the other hand... And double that for two speaker areas.
There is a reason no tablet manufacturers have done this.
who says it has to be a lot of tiny holes? Three is enough. Think it through.it would need 4 speakers to compensate for rotation. i'm okay with 4 discretely hidden speakers
I suppose you haven't used a tablet with stereo speakers yet. There is a definite difference.
I don't want to plug in a speaker to get better sound. So while I don't need stereo speakers, I do want a batter sounding speaker.
All I want is for the speakers to face forward. I hate how the sound always feels like it's going away from you (which it is). Cupping the speaker so that the sound redirects towards your face always sounds dramatically better. I know this won't happen though if those leaked iPad 3 case pictures are real.
It would be nice if the speakers were better, but I won't cry if the sound is only slightly improved. Most of the time if I'm out of the house I use headphones. At home in the house or in the backyard I use BT speakers. I got the Soundmatters FoxL. These are fantastic. A little pricey but they work really well and sound great.
