iPadOS 16 Touch ID problems since beta 4

Ever since the beta before last, my iPad mini 6 has been having a ton of Touch ID issues - where it gives an error saying that Touch ID has failed. Now I am also getting issues where the screen will turn off and lock at random. Any thoughts on how to fix?
I have turned off touch id and Siri and still having issues (and obviously did a reboot).

If you try with a fresh restore, does it work?

Nope. Tried both a restore as new and from backup. It was working briefly after the software update to the last beta, but now worse than ever.

If you can, file a radar or thing via the feedback assistant. Sadly, you either restore to a stable iOS version, or hopefully temporarily live with it :/ Sorry.

That said, coupled with the other issues you've mentioned, it seems like potentially faulty hardware. Restore to iOS 15, and see if it persists. If it does, take it to Apple. If it doesn't, try upgrading to iOS 16, seeing if it doesn't happen again, then restore from your backup.
