I’m not sure I get the lack of split view of you open one app hold down the traffic light bit on the top left of the window and select a side by side view then open a second app isn’t that pretty much the same as the old Split View ?
You can drag an app out of the dock directly into Split View. Much more convenient.

Yes if for Split View only but you get many more options now like quad tiling etc so I think it’s a decent trade off for actual functionality

Fair enough--I realize a lot of people wanted just that. But I don't need quad tiling on my iPad. I have a laptop and a desktop. Split Over's ability to park another app off-screen--like Messages--then restore it with a quick gesture are worth more to me than the multi-window tiling.

The main problem with split screen was that it was bad in portrait mode. Apple could have solved this by changing to horizontal splits but they didn’t. Stage Manger and the new multitasking system are much better in this regard.

Aside from that the final version of SS was very good. Maybe if enough people complain/request it they will add it back like they kept it after Stage Manager was introduced.
