No, you won’t. iPadOS and iOS just have the music app and it only allows you to play back the files and create a playlist. Editing artist names and other metadata is not possible in the app.
Thanks for the reply. I was hoping iPadOS made it possible. It’s a bummer because it’s the only thing stopping me from moving to the iPad Pro.
Works fine for me on iPad OS 13.1 beta as well as iOS 13.1 beta. I can rename, add, remove, create, delete my Playlists and the items in it
Thanks...Michael
Can you open/import a .mp3 file from the files app onto the music app? 😱Works fine for me on iPad OS 13.1 beta as well as iOS 13.1 beta. I can rename, add, remove, create, delete my Playlists and the items in it
Thanks...Michael
Same here. Working perfectly!Works fine for me on iPad OS 13.1 beta as well as iOS 13.1 beta.

So you can import an mp3 file via an external storage medium directly to the music player in iPadOS and change the file’s metadata?
We are not talking about creating playlists.
That’s impossible on iOS 12 and there was no evidence so far that this would change anytime soon.
This is what I’m asking about, not playlists. For example, Kanye West’s album The Life of Pablo isn’t available on iTunes. In order to put it into the music app I had to download it on my Mac and drag and drop into my iTunes library. Is this something I could do with iPadOS?
it is available on iTunes/Apple music https://music.apple.com/gb/album/the-life-of-pablo/1443063578
but, no I don’t see a way to upload albums from the pro.
Apologies for the confusion. This is what I’m asking about, not playlists.
