Hi,

My iPhone is stuck on the same screen of death/apple logo, everytime I try to start it up. Before it happened, it was really low on space (like only a few megabyte). Zero space prevents the phone from booting. This means that basically I have to reinstall the software and will lose all my data.

I read iOS 10 takes up less space. Is it possible to install the new software, so there is enough space for the phone to start up?

Please help - any advice is appreciated greatly.

Connect your phone to a computer and update it via iTunes. You'll be able to safely upgrade the OS without loosing your data and even transfer some of your data to the computer, freeing up more space.

Currently my computer (both Mac and pc) does not even recognize that I've plugged the iPhone/usb in. Should/can I put the iPhone in a special mode, where it allows the computer to see it?

Yes. But if you're not sure what you're doing and wouldn't want to risk loosing data, you should visit Apple. They'll gladly help you.

I cant see any of my photos, messages etc., but under "usage" it says my phone is 90% full of it.

I just got the iPhone to connect with iTunes, with the only option to do a restore or update to IOS10. I updated the software to IOS 10, but all of the content is hidden to me. Can anyone help me how to restore my messages and photos?

Go to iTunes and perform a SHIFT CLICK restore using an IPSW from ipsw.me

Thanks, but as in my previous message, I already updated the phone to IOS10, and encountered a new problem. All my data is invisible/hidden to me. Even though the phone is working and I can see that photos, messages etc is taking up considerate amounts of data, I cant see the files. As i mentioned, I dont have a recent backup, so I am wondering if you/anyone knows how I can get the data "back"?
