The above account has way too much detailed info for it to be fake, at least in my opinion. The mundane details about software build numbers and model numbers are what makes it real.

So basically the XS and XS Max are also "Pro" phones?

I hope Apple has some pro features they'll introduce for their new Pro phones. Like the 120Hz ProMotion displays.

I'm calling it now, the Pro phones will have a ProMotion display.

Welp, here we go.
By the day before the keynote, we would already have everything leaked. Then we will simply see everybody complaining about how the keynote was boring and there's "nothing new."

Part of the mojo of Steve Jobs' era was the presentation itself, the hype and the excitement with us not knowing much about what's coming. Now, Apple might as well skip the keynote if everything will be leaked (again) before the day. The only thing I'm looking forward now is Craig's presentation and his jokes. The rest are just there reading the prompter.

Back to the iPhone.

Sounds like the Xs and Xs Max will be discontinued then.
So this year line up could be the iPhone 8/8 Plus, XR, 11, 11 Pro, and 11 Pro Max.
Note that only 1 device with 2GB of RAM left, the iPhone 8.

The internet, those who accessed it, how they accessed it, and what they did were all different enough in that era compared to today.

It'll be interesting to see if Xr, Xs & Xs Max make the cut.

I don't know, it's honestly a coin flip. I'll go out on a limb and say they all get axed.

iPhone 11 Pro Max is a bit of a mouthful
So were people saying about the Xs Max, but here we are.

After every iPhone introduction I always tell myself I'll stop reading rumours and wait a year for the next keynote so that I could be surprised, but it's almost impossible to escape the leaks. Youtube also plays a big role, it would literally recommend you videos about leaks and most of the big tech channels cover those.

I’ll say the XR makes the cut as the model between the baseline iPhone 8 and iPhone 11. Xs and Xs Max would definitely be axed to make room for the Pro phones. Besides, they would be in a strange position if they exist yet are more expensive than the iPhone 11. It’s he same reason Apple axed the X last year.

Can we come up with a shortened term for the iPhone 11 Pro Max when discussing it? iP11PM maybe? Lol
Where I live most people just say Max when they refer to the XS. So “10 R”, “10 S” and “Max”.

I could see that naming convention continue going forward: 11, 11 Pro or just Pro, and Max/Pro Max.

As for forums, probably just 11, 11P and 11PM? Last one looks a bit funky though, haha. Maybe just 11M? :p

But conversely wouldn't it be weird if the Xr is out there looking very similar but cheaper than iPhone 11!?

No,

The current XR continues to be sold at a slightly lower price.

the 11 is simply the new upgraded XR

11 Pro is the new XS

11 Pro Max is the new XS Max

But it has clear differentiator, such as LCD screen, 3GB of RAM, A12, etc. at least for positioning wise, it has a spot in the lineup.

The XS on the other hand would be weird. It’s the same reason Apple discontinued the X while keeping the 8.

I agree with you. In the same way that the XS/Max replaced the X, I think the 11 Pro/Max will replace the XS/Max. The 2019 lineup will likely be:

8/Plus
XR
11
Pro/Max

I do, however, think that uninformed buyers will be confused if the XR and 11 are available at the same time, so Apple will need to find a way to differentiate them significantly, either by price, features, or even color.

The two are significantly different in the number of camera lenses.

Last year, customers were able to differentiate between XR and XS. The same will work for XR and 11.

Last year, there was more than just a second camera differentiating XR from XS (colors, finish, screen quality, and yes, 2nd camera). This year, the 11 will have a 2nd camera over the XR, but besides for that and maybe another color or two to choose from, the bulk of improvements will likely be internal.

Virtually every new smartphone on the market has 2 cameras. Having 1 camera feels like a 2015 product. That alone should be enough of a differentiator. The price difference between the 11 and XR will likely be $100-$150. It's easy to point at the camera and say it's worth an extra $100-150.

Last year, it was arguably more difficult to explain the $250 difference between XR and XS. The dual camera alone wasn't worth $250. You had to understand the difference between OLED/LCD, aluminum/SS, and LTE/GigLTE.
