My iPhone 11 charging port is growing increasingly temperamental and connects only at a particular angle/degree of pressure. It’s kaput. I can of course use wireless charging but it’s slow.

Does swapping out the dud port for an aftermarket one trigger the Unknown Part warning?

I don't know the answer to your question, but have you attempted to clean out the dust and pocket lint from the current lightning port? I remember having the same problem when I had an iPhone 11 pro, and was able to remove a surprising amount on lint by powering off the phone and cleaning it with a toothpick. The port worked great once cleaned.

I was convinced that my iPhone 6 Plus had a worn out lightning port. I experienced the same symptoms you described.
I had carefully cleaned out the port several times with a wooden toothpick and when I examined it with a magnifying glass and flashlight, I couldn’t see any lint inside. And the problem persisted.
The same symptoms happened to my 6S plus.
On both iPhones I dug around more thoroughly with the toothpick, wiping it off on a paper towel frequently- and low & behold… a little more junk came out.
Once I got it all out - both phones are now fine.
I bet your port is still dirty. A replacement port likely isn’t necessary.

If you go the route of replacing it, definitely use a genuine  port.
