Hi everyone! I noticed today that my wife’s iPhone 11 already has a deep crack right over the front camera. She got it day 1 and then we left for our week long vacation to Europe. She hasn’t dropped it and has kept it in a small cross body bag most of the time with no keys or anything else particularly sharp. Given these are the strongest screens ever, this seems very strange to me as I’ve had every phone for the past several years. We‘re still traveling until Monday but I was going to have her contact Apple support with the attached pictures to get the process going. Has anyone else had an issue like this with their phones in the past and if so has Apple been understanding?

Apple is not known to be understanding with cracks. Did she purchase applecare+?

If that is actually a crack and not a scratch you may have luck getting the phone repaired or replaced. A singular crack that doesn’t spider or have an obvious impact usually means a defect in the glass

I’m fairly confident it’s a crack, or a very deep scratch as I can feel it running my finger over it.

A single hairline crack has a good chance of being covered under warranty. This is especially true if there is no evidence of impact on the enclosure.

Just to update here, they ended up returning the defected phone, refunding the purchase and giving a brand new unit

Good to know. Single hairline cracks without obvious signs of impact are usually considered a defect by Apple.
